Casino Lisboa has reserved, for the next Friday, February 24th, at 22:30h, “Tribute 100 Years of Samba”. This group of experienced musicians pays tribute to Samba, namely its history and its composers and performers.
With an informal record, classics of Brazilian music will be highlighted in the Arena Lounge. Entry is free.
With Daniela Mendes on vocals, André Marques da Silva on guitar, and Juju on drums, these musicians recreate the best records of Noel Rosa, Cartola, Dona Ivone Lara, and Martinho da Vila, among many others.
Greater symbol of joy and sadness, love and pain, celebration and struggle… that is felt, sings and dances, but cannot be explained: O Samba! 100 years after the first phonographic recording of O Telephone, the date that marks the beginning of Samba as we know it today, it is time to celebrate it. Born in Bahia, he grew up in Rio de Janeiro and infected the world with his passion for Brazilian music. This is the world that today celebrates him in a tribute made by musicians who, despite not being Brazilian, live in their swing and singing.
“I wasn’t born in samba, but samba was born in me!” The “Tribute 100 Years of Samba” invites the public to join the celebration of the centenary of Samba, in a tribute to its history and to its composers and performers.
“Tribute 100 Years of Samba” on the multipurpose stage of the Arena Lounge, next Friday, February 24, from 10:30 pm to 11:10 pm and later from 11:30 pm to 12:10 am. Entry is free.
