Turismo do Algarve bets on the luxury professional events market

Turismo do Algarve is focusing on attracting luxury professional events to the region, a niche seen as strategic for the consolidation of the Algarve’s positioning as a destination with a differentiated quality offer compared to the competition.

In this context, through the Algarve Tourism Association (ATA), the region is once again present at Loop Leisure Spring 2022, the main luxury travel show aimed at the German-speaking markets – Germany, Austria and Switzerland – which, this year, presents as a novelty, an edition aimed at the leisure segment (Loop Leisure Spring) and another specific to the corporate and associative events industry – Loop MICE Spring.

Taking place in Cascais, between the 3rd and 9th of April, both events will bring together the main agents in the sector dedicated to the luxury tourism segment, with more than 80 business meetings and various moments of networking among participants.


Committed to publicizing the exclusive offers and the differentiating experiences that the Algarve provides, ATA invited some of the agents and operators that will be present at these events to participate in a series of famtrips in the region, so that they can experience first-hand what that makes this a unique destination, recognized and awarded globally.

Whether we are talking in the context of leisure holidays or business trips, our objective is to attract and bring together travellers in the Algarve who are fond of differentiating tourism, based on authentic and surprising experiences”, reveals João Fernandes, president of Tourism from the Algarve.We believe that this is a key pillar for the development of more sustainable tourism, which we aim for in the region. As such, these events act as privileged showcases for us to promote the Algarve as a reference in the luxury travel segment”, he adds.

The creation of an edition of Loop Spring exclusively aimed at the Meeting Industry was an idea well-received by Turismo do Algarve, which also sees here as an opportunity to revitalize and stimulate the rapid recovery of this segment. “We have been reinforcing the promotion of the region as an attractive destination to host professional events and visits in a work context to different niches identified as relevant. In this sense, given its enormous potential, the luxury events market clearly cannot be left out of our strategy”, defends João Fernandes.The Algarve has all the conditions to inspire and surprise the most demanding professionals, who are looking for the best places to plan their event”, he emphasizes.
