Twanguero presents Panamerica at the Baldaya Palace in January
Acclaimed Spanish guitarist Twanguero, a Latin Grammy winner and an unmissable reference in the music world, presents his latest album, Panamerica, in Lisbon on January 30th.
The concert will take place in the Arcade Room of the Baldaya Palace, in Benfica, at 9:00 pm, promising a night full of virtuosity and emotion.
Known for the fusion of influences such as flamenco, tango, jazz and country, Twanguero – Diego García’s stage name – is a pioneer in the “Latin Twang” genre. Throughout his career, he collaborated with renowned artists such as Andrés Calamaro, Fito Páez and Jackson Browne, establishing himself as a central figure in the international music scene.
With Panamerica, Twanguero embarks on a vibrant musical journey where the electric guitar of North American rock’n’roll heritage meets the boleros, cumbias, rancheras and rumbas of Latin America. Inspired by the diversity of tropical rhythms and sounds, the album is an instrumental work that transports the listener to the heart of a lush forest.
“I wanted to capture and express the symphony of the jungle,” says Twanguero. Each strip is dedicated to a distinct animal, from birds to howler monkeys, jaguars and cicadas, reflecting the richness and mysticism of tropical nature.
Through 10 tracks, the artist invites the audience to a unique sensory experience where music transcends borders and genres, mixing bolero, cumbia, tejano, surf and country with a contemporary approach that he describes as “new nostalgia”. As Twanguero himself points out, “Panamerica transports us. Move your mind to another place, at least for the three minutes of a song or the thirty minutes of the album.”
