The social network announced the arrival of voice clips and explained that this addition is a way of giving a more human touch to the platform, so it is possible to understand the tone with which someone wants to convey a given message.
These voice clips can be accompanied by text, but they can also be published on their own. To record one, simply click on a new icon, which displays a small sound wave.
The message can be up to 140 seconds long. If you exceed this limit, the application starts a thread automatically, which can have up to 25 messages.
For now, voice clips can only be published as original tweets, so it is not yet possible to use one of these to reply to other people’s tweets. Although the functionality is still limited to some users, everyone can see and hear these new voice messages.
Twitter has not yet revealed when the functionality will be available for Android, nor for the web version of the social network.
