A team of researchers from the Center for the Study of Geography and Spatial Planning (CEGOT) of the University of Coimbra (UC), coordinated by the full professor Paula Santana, is carrying out a worldwide questionnaire in order to understand and evaluate the consequences that the COVID-19 pandemic is having on family, social and community relationships.
This online questionnaire, has «translation into 13 languages hoping, in this way, to reach individuals from different territories of the world, aged equal to or greater than 18 years”, says the person in charge of the research team, appealing to the participation of citizens.
“In addition to the characteristics of the individual, housing and the surrounding area, we want to assess how the contexts of life, work/study and leisure and the access and use of health care are being affected by the pandemic of COVID-19. Another relevant aspect, which will emerge from the responses to this questionnaire, is related to the citizens’ perception of the role of local authorities in minimizing social and economic impacts”, highlights Paula Santana.
The team guarantees the confidentiality of the data and the anonymity of the respondents. “There will be no disclosure or communication of individual results. The data collected will be used exclusively for the purpose of fundamental and applied scientific research”, explains the study coordinator.
