UHF and Diogo Piçarra are attending Coimbra’s New Year’s Eve party in Largo da Portagem, the Coimbra City Council announced today in a press release.
The city of Coimbra departs from 2018 with a concert of the band UHF, that acts by the 22:30, in the Tolls Largo, in a spectacle also marked by the 40 years of the group led by Antonio Manuel Ribeiro, informed today the municipality, in a note sent.
Known for songs such as ‘Running Horses’, ‘Sarajevo’ or ‘Carmo Street’, the UHF emerged in 1978 and has 15 studio albums edited in four decades.
Currently, the band consists of António Manuel Ribeiro, António Corte-Real, Luís Simões, Fernando Rodrigues and Ivan Cristiano.
After the performance of the UHF, the city celebrates the entrance of the new year with a concert of the young Portuguese musician Diogo Piçarra, who will perform at 00:10, Largo da Portagem, in a spectacle “with a strong visual component“, informed the autarchy.
On stage, Diogo Piçarra will be accompanied by Francisco Aragão (guitars, keyboards and schedules), Filipe Cabeças (drums and schedules) and Miguel Santos (bass and keyboard).
According to the City Hall, in the next few days will be announced the remaining artists who will perform on the night of New Year’s 2018, with a program that is designed “for all audiences and that will cover various spaces of the Coimbra District.“
