UHF, Teresa Salgueiro, Happy Mess and Mia Couto in Castelo Branco

Concerts with UHF, Teresa Salgueiro, Cristina Branco and Happy Mess, and the presence of Mia Couto for the launch of her latest book, mark the cultural agenda of Castelo Branco for the last quarter of the year.

“As is the hallmark of our program, eclecticism is present in the various musical, theatrical and dance proposals. The UHF come to Castelo Branco to commemorate the 40th anniversary of its existence, a privilege for those who like this group led by António Manuel Ribeiro “explains the mayor of Castelo Branco, Luís Correia.

The Cultural Agenda Vibra also includes for the last quarter of the year a wide range of other activities, such as theater, exhibitions, dance and literature.

“The second edition of Castelo de Artes – Encontros de Castelo Branco is one of the highlights of this agenda, because it goes against the cultural policy of decentralization, working with our creators and is a stimulus for all, through the readings of the participating artists “Almost the whole county is touched by this year’s edition and I am sure that it will be an artistic success and the level of democratization of access to culture,” he says.

The mayor also highlights the presence in Castelo Branco of two great voices of Portuguese music: “They visit us in December, in a space of only 15 days, Cristina Branco and Teresa Salgueiro.”

The UHF will appear on the stage of Cineteatro Avenida de Castelo Branco on November 16, at 9:30 p.m. to celebrate the band’s 40th anniversary. To this date, from the tour ’40 Anos Numa Noite ‘, will be added the historical edition of three rare UHF records.

Still in the musical field, Cristina Branco has a presence scheduled for December 1, at 9:30 pm, at Cineteatro Avenida de Castelo Branco, and Teresa Salgueiro will be present on the same stage, on December 12, at 9:30 p.m.

The Happy Mess will be present on November 10 at the Alcains Cultural Center at 9:30 p.m., where they present their third album, “Dear Future”.

In the field of literature, Mia Couto will be at Cineteatro Avenida de Castelo Branco, on November 20, at 18:30.

The Mozambican writer presents his latest book, ‘The Water and the Eagle’, the result of his collaboration with illustrator for children and graphic designer Danuta Wojciechowska.

The two authors will also hold three sessions in the clusters of schools in Castelo Branco.

“As you can see, Culture in its various approaches is really a strategic bet for this municipality and the fact that this agenda marks nine years of regular programming is one of the concrete signs of this investment,” concludes Luís Correia.
