A Unique Pair
Zélia Duncan and Paulinho Moska, together, are An Odd Pair. The singer-songwriter duo’s tour will pass through Portugal, with shows scheduled at the Super Bock Arena, in Porto, on November 15th, and at Sagres Campo Pequeno, in Lisbon, on November 16th.
Zélia Duncan and Paulinho Moska have been friends and partners since their first solo album, back in the 90s, and now form a unique duo: Um Par Ímpar. There are more than 25 years of friendship and songs written together.
Although the project had been conceived by the two for a long time, the idea of the tour began to come to fruition in 2012, when they created the song “Um Par Ímpar”, an anthem of encounter, freedom, class, tribe and the union of all of us: “We are the song of nature, we are crazy about beauty and what it is capable of. We are a different wave, if you want to come with us, bring love and more.”
Certain that the song could give its name to the long-awaited tour, they kept it in a drawer until now, the moment they considered it appropriate to listen to it. The show by the singer-songwriter duo, known for the good use of poetic words in their lyrics, presents their versions of partnerships and other surprises that complement the repertoire.
In addition to “Carne e Osso”, “O Tom do Amor”, “Sinto Encanto”, “Não”, “Feliz Caminhar”, “Tudo é Um”, “Medo do Medo”, “Beleza e Medo” and “Um Par Ímpar”, the repertoire also includes songs from each individual’s career, songs by other authors and new songs composed by the duo.
“Um Par Ímpar” suggests a true encounter that unifies, a plural that singularizes itself and a diversity that balances. This is how Zélia and Moska are, differences that complement each other, and similarities that enhance each other. A singular pair, an odd pair.
The duo’s Um Par Ímpar tour will pass through Portugal, with shows scheduled at the Super Bock Arena, in Porto, on November 15th, and at Sagres Campo Pequeno, in Lisbon, on November 16th.
Tickets are available at bol.pt and the usual locations.
MOSKA BY ZÉLIA
“Paulinho Moska, Paulinho Moska… Paulinho is all heart, as an old poet said about himself, but here I’m talking about my friend-brother. I look and listen, for so long, to this heart artist moving in life and on stage… I don’t know if I love our points of contact or our differences more. With the differences, I learn, I am surprised, and I take my breath away when I see the beauty he invents. At the points of contact, I grow with him, I find myself, I see myself when I look at him and there is still trust. (…)
