A Bear in the Universe of Dea Loher at Teatro Aberto
Until July 27, at Teatro Aberto, you can watch a show for the whole family, A BEAR IN THE UNIVERSE, by Dea Loher.
The production, music, set, costumes and lighting are being developed in a collective creation by Anabela Gaspar, Afonso de Portugal, João Lourenço, Jorge Albuquerque, Marisa Fernandes, Marta Guerreiro, Sofia de Portugal and Vera San Payo de Lemos.
On stage, the actors and actresses will be Catarina Lima, João Maria Reis, João Redondo, Zita Milene, and the musician Afonso de Portugal. It is a show for everyone, for adults, for young people and for children from 6 years old. To move, laugh and reflect with the family. Showing Saturdays at 7 pm, Sundays at 11:30 am and 4 pm.
Synopsis:
Benny, a polar bear, sees the Arctic ice where he lives melting and builds a raft to escape. After a long journey, he arrives in Polynesia, where he meets Polly the chicken. She helps him discover how to live in that dry and warm place, where everything is strange to him. Benny’s biggest concern is finding a companion so that the polar bears don’t disappear. But will he be able to find one in such a big and dangerous world?
In her first play for the whole family, the prestigious German author Dea Loher tells a story full of humour, music and fantasy about current issues, such as global warming and the extinction of species, and timeless themes, such as friendship and respect for differences.
