A wine experience and a journey through Traditional Portuguese Gastronomy in the 3rd edition of the Wine Social Club

The Lodge Porto Hotel will gather around the table, for the 3rd time, lovers of wine and traditional Portuguese food for another informal and intimate dinner where masters of winemaking, whose dedication and expertise shape the art of winemaking in Portugal.
The hosts of this edition will be João Alvares Ribeiro, from Quinta do Vallado and Daniel Niepoort, and it will take place on the 6th of July (Thursday), at 7.30 pm, in the Sala dos Trinta of The Lodge Porto Hotel.
The Wine Social Club by The Lodge is more than a wine event, it is a leisure experience where Portuguese gastronomy joins the best wines and good times, where wines from different regions are introduced, always with the presence of two or more producers, who informally explain the vines, grape varieties, blends and terroirs of each wine while dishes proposed by Chef João Vieira are served.
For this edition, two producers will be present that need no introduction: Quinta do Vallado and Nieport, where the aromas of the wines will fill the air, awakening the senses of all those present. Each producer will share secrets and experiences while talking about the nuances of their wines and the challenges faced over generations.
The dinner menu will be in charge of Chef João Vieira, responsible for the kitchen at the Dona Maria restaurant, who will provide a journey of flavors to accompany this wine experience. Dinner will begin with starters: petingas enguiço with bolo da sertã, Maronesa veal frittata, favinhas with wine chorizo, potatoes with olive paste, always with the traditional sausages. For the main course, typical rotten codfish from Trás-os-Montes will be served, paired with wines from the Douro and Dão regions presented by the hosts of this edition. For the sweet moment of the event, the dessert proposed by the chef will be bowled from Oliveira do Hospital.
