A Memorable Night of Flavors and Music

The O Monte Restaurant opened its doors for an unforgettable evening, where excellent cuisine blended with a passion for music in a wine and gastronomic dinner that will remain in the memory of all those present.

The event, which took place on February 28, 2025, in Bodiosa – Viseu, was attended by the talented Chef and musician Miguel Gameiro, who provided a unique sensory experience.

A Gastronomic Journey with Miguel Gameiro
Miguel Gameiro, with his vast culinary experience acquired in prestigious schools and restaurants, presented those present with a tasting menu that explored the authentic flavors of the Lafões region.

It is impossible not to highlight Chef Marco Marques, owner of O Monte Restaurant, ‘s fundamental role on this memorable night. His passion for gastronomy and innate talent were evident in every dish, from the selection of ingredients to the final presentation. His ability to work together with Miguel Gameiro resulted in a symphony of flavors that delighted everyone. Your dedication and professionalism were crucial to the success of this event, demonstrating once again your ability to elevate regional gastronomy to a level of excellence.

The four-hands dinner began with the chefs’ treats and the Lugar do Gato Rosé Cepas Velhas 2022.
This was followed by dishes such as the beef heart tomato with cream cheese and veal ham from Lafões, accompanied by the Lugar do Gato Rosé 2023 from the Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz varieties, the monkfish with prawns and Jerusalem artichoke was served alongside the Lugar do Gato White Cepas Velhas 2023, and Miguel Gameiro’s signature dish “Poderia ser Vital de Lafões” paired with Lugar do Gato Tinto Reserva 22, the first red reserve from Lafões. To finish, a delicious ruby ​​chocolate dessert with Serra cheese and wild berries based on and served with Lugar do Gato Red 2022 harvest.

Quinta do Gato Wines: A Celebration of the Lafões
Terroir Celeste Bento, owner of Quinta do Gato, welcomed those present, sharing the passion that drives her in this family wine tourism project. Located in São Pedro do Sul – Lafões, Quinta do Gato is a space dedicated to the production of excellent wines, where tradition is combined with innovation. Celeste Bento explained, in brief words, Quinta do Gato’s vision: “We seek to provide unique experiences to visitors through tasting authentic wines and immersing ourselves in the beauty of the surrounding landscape”.

In an atmosphere of sharing and celebration, guests were able to appreciate the excellence of Quinta do Gato wines, witnessing the work and passion that are reflected in each bottle. The “Lugar do Gato” brand has been standing out for the authenticity and quality of its wines, and winemaker António Pina, with his in-depth knowledge, guided diners on a journey through the flavors of the Lafões terroir, presenting the wines that paired perfectly with the dishes on the Chef’s menu.

The wine and gastronomic dinner with Chefs Miguel Gameiro and Marco Marque at the O Monte Restaurant was more than just a meal. It was a night of sharing, celebration and conviviality, where guests could enjoy excellent cuisine, quality wines and captivating music. The friendship and family atmosphere felt at the event was because the O Monte restaurant and Quinta do Gato are projects that were born and grew in parallel, with the common goal of promoting the authentic flavors of Lafões.
