Portucalense wants academic community closer to culture

Dean Fernando Ramos makes public presentation tomorrow

Universidade Portucalense (UPT) aims to bring the academic community closer to the arts, culture and heritage and become a cultural centre of great importance in the democratization of culture and a promoter of citizenship that promotes creativity and critical thinking.

In this context, tomorrow it presents Cultura@Portucalense, a cultural project that consists of promoting debates, exhibitions, workshops and concerts that will take place during the year in different spaces of the university, based on two thematic clusters, strategic and current thinking guides, the Sustainability and the Digital Transition.

Living up to the UPT’s mission of international cooperation, the programs to be established also aim at the international scene, with great emphasis on a close relationship with Portuguese-speaking countries and with countries that have cultural and heritage influences from Portugal in the world.

The public presentation of the project will be made tomorrow, February 22, at 3:00 pm, in auditorium 201, by the Rector of the UPT, Professor Fernando Ramos, followed by the first debate session whose motto will be “The Extension of the Portuguese Continental Shelf”, by Prof. Doctor Pedro Madureira, Deputy Head – Scientific and Technical Coordinator – of the Portuguese Continental Shelf Project – EMEPC and Professor at the Department of Geosciences at the School of Science and Technology of the University of Évora.
