This was the address at which they crossed paths on the latest single — produced by FRANKIEONTHEGUITAR and performed by Tommy Loureiro — in anticipation of do.mar, the title of Van Zee’s new album.
First Diogo Piçarra, then Ivandro and now Carolina Deslandes. Since leaving the island, the Madeiran prodigy has been diving in much deeper waters to meet the biggest “sharks”. It has quickly become a big fish, an inevitable maturation after making itself known with a more notable presence on the continental market.
If Aporia, the debut album he released in 2021, already threatened to become a severe case in these parts, do.mar, successor to his first solo full-length, confirms what is more than evident these days: the numbers don’t lie, if he wasn’t the most listened-to national artist on Spotify in recent months. But, more than the numbers, it’s the man himself who doesn’t lie: artistic honesty is the greatest asset that Van Zee has to bring to the table, and that’s what, in truth, has endeared him to more and more people.
Especially because it is almost always about a single major theme that the artist deals with: love is invariably on Van Zee’s lips, and “À Tua Porta” confirms this rule. Carolina Deslandes is, therefore, a valuable ally in the cause of the author whose heart’s desires always speak louder. Therefore, Drake’s music will not be why they both dedicate poetry under the window. The bad thing is really the longing, which doesn’t let them move forward, out the door.
The presentation concerts for Van Zee’s album do.mar will take place first at the Hard Club, on the 24th of February, and then at the Capitol (already sold out), on the 9th of March.
The do.mar album, which will be released on December 1st, features 21 songs and guest appearances by Julinho KSD, Carolina Deslandes, Yuri NR5 and Pikika.
