In the final, the Portuguese defeated Timothée Bisso, by 16.67, against a score of 11.73 by the Frenchman, lifting the trophy.

The Portuguese man succeeds Frederico Morais as winner of the Estrella Galicia Pro Santa Cruz, a men’s qualifying event of 3,000 points, a stage that precedes another competition in Portugal, the Caparica Surf Fest, between 18 and 23 May.

Ribeiro spent the morning beating French athletes, starting in the quarter-finals, against Leo Paul Etienne, who won 11.03 against 9.33, eliminating Kauli Vaast in the semi-finals by 13.50-13.

The victory leaves Vasco Ribeiro in second place in the ranking of the qualifying circuit, behind only the Italian Leonardo Fioravanti, cementing himself in the place of qualification for this year’s Challenger Series.
