Vasco Vilaça wins triathlon event in Coimbra

There was another competition of the Triathlon Europe Cup, which took place at Parque da Canção, in Coimbra, and the Portuguese Vasco Vilaça, world vice-champion, was the winner. In the women’s competition Melanie Santos was ranked third.

Vasco Vilaça finished the race with a time of 50.44 minutes, followed by Ricardo Batista with 50.50 minutes and by the Belgian Christophe de Keyser with 51.02 minutes, which complete the podium.

Melanie Santos, also took the podium, in the third position with a time of 56.59 minutes, and is thus eligible for the individual event of the Tokyo2020 Olympic Games.

The winner of the women’s competition was the British Sophie Green with a time of 56.43 minutes and the Spanish Cecília Santamaria Surroca in second with 56.57 minutes with the Portuguese in third position.
