at the opening of the Vilamoura Boat Show

The adapted vessel Corsário do Arade, crewed by an inclusive team with functional diversity, won third place in the CIMAV Regatta, today, at the opening of the 27th edition of the Marina de Vilamoura International Boat Show.

Luís Ramalho, a wheelchair-bound sailor, took the helm of the vessel and Guilherme Ribeiro, a sailor who occupies number 1 in the world ranking in the RS venture adapted sailing class, was in charge of adjusting the sails during the race that took place this morning off Vilamoura for around two hours. The race started with light wind, but the intensity increased, which made the crew’s work difficult.

In addition to participating in the Regatta, the Vela Solidária vessel will be available during the Boat Show to carry out nautical activities with children, disadvantaged young people and people with disabilities. Participation is free upon registration at the following link.
