Vidro Azul – 20 years!
The emblematic radio program, by Ricardo Mariano, celebrates two decades on October 14th.
It’s been 20 years of many songs with nocturnal and melancholic textures that Ricardo Mariano has made known, at the same time that the passion for the art of making radio, has contributed to the longevity of the program.
Vidro Azul has its genesis in October 2002 in the radio laboratory that is Rádio Universidade de Coimbra. And the start could not have projected a better future, with Ricardo Mariano choosing, for the beginning of everything, a song with the voice of Lisa Gerrard from Dead Can Dance, the engaging and emotional “Sacrifice”.
And from then on, it quickly became one of the most cult radio moments, which extended to the Podcast format, being still today, one of the most downloaded music programs in Portugal.
Despite never having left its mother house in the RUC, the Blue Glass found other homes on FM. It integrates the programming of Rádio Universitária do Minho, passed through RADAR and is currently one of the references on Rádio SBSR (90.4 Lisbon/ 91.0 Porto/ sbsr.fm), where Ricardo Mariano also broadcasts daily, from 4pm.
The 20 years of Blue Glass are celebrated on Rádio SBSR during the week of October 10th to 14th, with a special daily program starting at 9 pm, testimonials and live performances.
And on the night of Friday, October 14th, there is a birthday party at Incógnito in Lisbon, with a DJ set by Ricardo Mariano and guests.
Two decades of Vidro Azul, which are at the same time synonymous with passion for Radio.
