Villa Alvor Launches Reserva Line and Strengthens Presence in the Algarve
Villa Alvor has just launched the new Reserva line, initially comprised of two wines: a white wine and a rosé, reflecting the essence, richness, and history of the Algarve.
“With a visual identity inspired by the fascinating Roman labyrinths, our Reserva line features wines that reveal the complexity, richness, and history of the Algarve in every bottle. Like a labyrinth, each wine is a unique discovery, where layers intertwine and unfold at every turn,” says Filipa Albergaria, Villa Alvor brand manager.
The Villa Alvor Reserva white and Villa Alvor Reserva rosé wines, focused on the off-trade channel, complement the brand’s portfolio, reinforcing its commitment to gastronomic wines in a growing wine region.
“The wines in this new Reserva line, with their notes and aromas, invite you to discover a region where past and present meet, providing an authentic sensory experience,” emphasises Filipa Albergaria, brand manager for Villa Alvor.

The Villa Alvor Reserva white 2024, a blend of Verdelho (85%) and Sauvignon Blanc (15%), has a fresh and aromatic profile. Pale lime green in colour, it presents subtle floral and tropical fruit aromas, combined with light notes of toast. On the palate, it stands out for its elegant structure and fresh, lingering finish. It is especially recommended with seafood dishes, such as grilled fish and shellfish, as well as fresh salads with salmon or burrata.
The Villa Alvor Reserva rosé 2024, made exclusively from the Grenache grape variety, expresses a delicate aroma marked by fresh strawberry and raspberry, citrus nuances, and a subtle floral touch. Here, too, part of the blend is aged in barrels with bâtonnage, enhancing the wine’s richness and depth. The result is a clear and bright rosé with a light pink colour, balanced acidity, and an intense, captivating finish, ideal for seafood dishes, fish stews, or shrimp pasta.
Since its creation in 2019, the Villa Alvor brand has established itself as one of the three leading brands in the Algarve region.

ABOUT VILLA ALVOR:
The name Villa (a word of Roman origin) and Alvor (a word of Arabic origin) reflect the connection between these two cultures. Nestled between the Ria de Alvor and the Serra de Monchique, just 4.5km as the crow flies from the coast, Villa Alvor is a mosaic of colours. The clay and limestone soil contrast with the green of the vineyards and the blue of the sea. In 2019, Aveleda acquired this Quinta, and thus was born Villa Alvor, a project based on the appreciation of the essence of the Algarve.
With a maritime influence, the wines produced in the 30 hectares of vineyards are distinguished by their unusual freshness.
It is also worth noting that a lagoon surrounded by vegetation was created at Villa Alvor, which allows for some of the wine’s water needs to be met while simultaneously reducing its visual impact, promoting biodiversity.
ABOUT AVELEDA:
Since 1870, Aveleda has been operating in the Vinho Verde region, in the Douro region of Bairrada, in the Algarve, with a vineyard area of approximately 600 hectares and 184 employees.

At Aveleda, sustainability is present on several levels, going beyond sustainable agricultural practices. In July 2024, it achieved B Corp certification, a global recognition granted to companies that adhere to high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and responsibility.
