Guided Visits to the Archeology Exhibition at the São Sebastião Chapel

On the 15th, 22nd and 29th of January, at 10:30h and 15:00h, the Moita City Council promotes guided visits to the Archeology Exhibition: “The Occupation of the Territory through Archaeological Remains: From the Paleolithic to the Contemporary Age”, on display at the São Sebastião Chapel, in Moita.

Participation in the visits is free but subject to booking via T. 210 817 048 or email, with a limited number of ten participants per group. The visit lasts approximately one hour.

This exhibition, which is open to the general public on Fridays from 14:00 to 17:00, and Saturdays from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 14:30 to 17:00, takes an approach to the occupation. of the territory, through the archaeological materials found in the different sites of the county and in deposit in the Reserva do Município da Moita.

It establishes a chronological line, whose circuit begins in the geology of the territory and continues through six chronological modules: Paleolithic, Neolithic, Roman Period, Middle Ages, Modern Age and Contemporary Age. For each of the exposed temporalities and from the selected pieces, the social and economic realities of the communities that they lived in this territory are addressed.
