The Alentejo singer Vitorino celebrated April 25th on the night of April 24th, in Praça do Comércio, in Lisbon.
With him, he brought several friends, Márcia, Luís Trigacheiro, Mafalda Veiga, and Zeca Medeiros, and also the group of Cantadeiras and Cantadores do Redondo.
The night ran with the sound of ‘Acordai’, ‘Senhora Maria’, ‘Semeei Salsa ao Reguinho’, ‘Rouxinol repica o Canto’, ‘Ama Dois’, ‘Menina estás à janela’, ‘Moda Revolta’, ‘Queda do Império’, ‘A Morte saiu à Rua’, ‘Mudam-se os Tempos, Mudam-se as Vontades’, ‘Menino do Bairro’, ‘Presença das Formigas’, ‘Presença das Formigas’, ‘’Que força é Essa’, ‘’Cantar de Emigração’, ‘’A Noite Passada’, ‘’Menina dos Olhos Tristes’, ‘’O Cantador’’ and ‘’Cantiga da Terra’, also remembering great composers, Sérgio Godinho, Rosalia de Castro, Sophia de Mello Breyner, António Lobo Antunes.
Among songs, hymns to Freedom, there was a video recitation of several poems, by several artists, Aldina Duarte, Carlão, Capicua, and Tim, with poems by Manuel Alegre, Jonas Negalha, Sophia de Mello Breyner, and Ruy Belo.
Vitorino and friends were accompanied on stage by Sérgio Costa, Rui Alves, Carlos Salomé, Paulo Jorge, Guilherme Duque, and Tomás Pimental (Music Direction).
During the songs António Jorge Gonçalves, illustrator and set designer, creates, live and from photographs, paintings illustrating what each song transmits to him.
The Praça do Comércio full of People, to sing and celebrate Freedom! Celebrate 49 years of Freedom, ending the night with the traditional fireworks display.
