Volta Trucks launches the 100% electric Volta Zero truck

This vehicle is in line with the current needs for the road freight transport sector. Volta Zero had its international launch and has already shown much of its design and technical characteristics.

According to the founder of the startup, Rob Fowler, the vehicle arrived to change the image of road transport. Thus, its intention is that Volta Trucks redefines the perception of the large commercial vehicle, its operation and the integration in the “zero emission” cities of the future.

Thus, these objectives can be achieved through the three pillars: safety, sustainability and electrification. Volta Zero wants to reinvent the transport of urban goods. This is the first 16-ton all-electric utility vehicle, specially designed for the distribution of orders and cargo in city centers.

This global launch will be followed by tests in the real world with logistics operators in the first half of 2021. As was announced in the presentation, the Volta Zero trucks will operate in a dozen cities in Europe.

This 100% electric heavy will start mass production in the first half of 2022. As a result, the Swedish start-up plans to produce and sell 500 units from 2022 and increase to 5,000 by 2025.
