Alice Phoebe Lou’s music is often described as a mix of Indie Folk, strongly emphasising storytelling and acoustic instrumentation. Her voice carries a deep and emotional quality that is reminiscent of soul singers.

Her style is characterised by honest lyrics, catchy lyrics and often minimalist arrangements that allow her voice and the emotional core of her songs to shine.

She grew up in South Africa, influenced by her parents’ record collection and their involvement in theatre and the arts. She moved to Berlin at the age of 19 and began her musical career playing on the streets. This experience strongly shaped her independent spirit and her connection with live audiences.

Her street performances gained her a following and led to collaborations with other musicians from Berlin’s diverse art scene. She maintained a strong DIY ethic while releasing her music.
