Web Summit will be 100% online
On the website, all indications already pointed to the realization of the online event, following the model adopted in Collision, and using the same platform, but the Web Summit organization had not yet given an “official” confirmation to the questions that SAPO TEK had sent.
Web Summit confirms that it will have a channel dedicated to Portugal and initiatives focused on Portuguese startups and companies, supporting open source development, women in technology, and business in Lisbon, as well as Lisbon Green Capital 2020.
Despite being only online, 50 thousand free tickets will be offered to university students and recent graduates with an interest in working in Portuguese startups or starting a business.
The Portuguese channel of the Web Summit will have interviews with hundreds of startup CEOs, as well as segments from universities and research institutes, and will also explore the art, culture and history of Portugal, and investment opportunities.
The commitment assumed is to guarantee 10,000 face-to-face meetings, by video, between Portuguese companies, international investors, customers, partners and journalists.
