The musicals that live, too, on a movie screen!
Casino Estoril receives, on December 7th, at 9.30 pm, West End Musicals. It is a show that presents a careful selection of emblematic live musicals, inviting the public to accompany them from the cinema screen to the stage of the Salão Preto e Prata.
The Lisbon Film band (the band version of the Lisbon Film Orchestra) thus proposes a live show, in continuation of the success of the streaming held last spring.
West End Musicals performs a creative and unique synthesis between music and the 7th art, from the most varied musicals that have passed through this mythical European cultural area – the West End. In addition to the performance of 4 musicians and 3 singers, the concert also counts , with a formative dissemination component, with the participation of LFO Academy students. The “orchestral” formation is composed by: drums, piano, double bass and guitar and are accompanied by renowned singers in the Portuguese panorama – Raquel Tillo, Manuel Moreira and Joana Brito Silva, with the Musical Direction of Maestro Nuno Sá.
This show proposes the best stage songs that were also successful on the movie screen, where there will be no lack of themes from the great classics such as Winner takes it all (Mamma Mia), Empty chairs at empty tables (Os Miseráveis), All I ask of you (Fantasma da Ópera), One Jump ahead (Aladino), Nature Boy (Moulin Rouge), mas onde também figurarão os musicais do momento, como You’ll be back (Hamilton), Only Us (Dear Evan Hansen) and It only takes a taste (Waitress).
Many more themes are also interpreted, such as: I know (Into de Woods), Sister act, Chicago, Candy Store (Heathers), Take or leave me (Rent), Defying Gravity (Wicked), Suddenly Seymor (Little shop of horrors), Electricty (Billy Eliot) and At the Ballet (Chorus Line). All of them to see live on an unforgettable night.
