WhatsApp won’t share data with Facebook in the EU

This post is also available in: Português (Portuguese (Portugal))

The General Data Protection Regulation in force in the countries of the European Union will prevent data from being automatically shared with the social network led by Mark Zuckerberg.

Thus, European WhatsApp users are safeguarded and guaranteed that their data remains in the European division of the company.

Facebook says that this WhatsApp data sharing will aim not only to improve users’ services and security, but also to display personalized offers and ads that are more relevant.
