Wine fair in focus at the festivities of Reguengos de Monsaraz

The 5th edition of the ViniReguengos fair, with dozens of Portuguese wine brands, is featured in the Santo António Festivities in Reguengos de Monsaraz (Évora), which run from Wednesday to Sunday, the chamber announced today.

The festivities, in honor of the patron saint of the county, take place in the Fair and Exhibition Park and are promoted by the municipality, including also music, popular marches, pyrotechnic spectacle, and religious ceremonies, among other initiatives.

The ViniReguengos wine fair, which runs the 5th edition and counts this year with the participation of “about 20 wine producers”, is one of the attractions of the festivities.

According to the city council, although the Festivities of Santo António start already this Wednesday, the wine fair only begins on Friday, continuing until Sunday.

A drink invigorated by the graduates of the Évora Vocational Training and Employment Center, wine tastings, show-cooking sessions with various chefs and the presentation of the Bucelas, Carcavelos and Colares Wine Route are part of the fair’s program. music with groups Al-Canti, Coral Os Bel’Aurora de Campinho, and En’canta Modas.

The “kick-off” of the Festivities of Santo António is given at the end of Wednesday afternoon, with the official inauguration, followed in the evening by the parade and the performance of the popular marches, with two children and three of adults, a pyrotechnic spectacle and the performance of the Republika Group.

On Thursday, the day of Santo António, the program begins early in the morning, with the hoisting of the flags in the Paços do Concelho, the concentration of images of the patron saints of the Christian communities of the county, in Praça da Liberdade, and then a Eucharist.

In the evening, the popular marches are back on the road and a concert by the band The Vocalists and popular dance are scheduled.

A show with the singer Fernando Daniel and the performance of the pair K.R.A.S.H., consisting of DJ and producer Henri Josh and MC Katorz, are the highlights of Friday night.

The Saturday program, among other initiatives, includes, in Praça de Toiros José Mestre Batista, a bullfight in honor of the cattleman Luís Rocha.

The riders João Moura Jr., João Ribeiro Telles, and Luis Rouxinol Jr. participate in the race, with the forts of Monsaraz and Montemor-o-Novo taking the bulls of the cattle ranch Luís Rocha.

The “soundtrack” of that night is provided by the Spanish duo Azúcar Moreno and the performance of DJ Grouse, accompanied by Martin, Saints, and Sinners (saxophone and percussion).

The last day of the Santo António Festivities, where visitors have at their disposal small bars and pubs, presents, at night, a concert with the band Remember, which will play musical successes of the 1980s and 1990s, and the performance of the DJ Plastiks.
