With November 26th sold out, Within Temptation announced a new date, November 25th, at Sala Tejo at MEO Arena.
One of the most representative groups of symphonic metal passes through our country and brings new features: Bleed Out is the name of the new album, released in October 2023. Sharon den Adel’s group, one of the most charismatic voices in metal, also brings the classics of a career spanning over twenty years.
Tickets for the new date will go on pre-sale tomorrow on the band’s official website and general sale starts next Friday, April 5th.
When talking about the best of darker music, particularly in the more symphonic metal territory, Within Temptation occupies a prominent place. The mythical band from the Netherlands has spread its energy over more than two decades of music, with seven albums to its credit: Enter (1997), Mother Earth (2000), The Silent Force (2004), The Heart of Everything (2007), The Unforgiving (2011), Hydra (2014) and RESIST (2019).
In total, these records have already totalled more than four million sales, proving that heavier music continues to attract a legion of fans. Songs like “Paradise (What About Us?)” with Tarja or “Shot In The Dark” accumulate millions of hits on streaming platforms or YouTube, and the numbers keep increasing.
In this successful journey, the band has already won numerous international awards, such as the World Music Award, the MTV Europe Music Awards, and the Metal Hammer Award, among others, and was present at some of the main European festivals: Download, Hellfest, Wacken Open Air, Graspop and Woodstock Poland are some of the stages the Dutch band has already graced.
In recent years, Within Temptation has focused its energies on producing singles. In 2020 and 2021, for example, the band released songs as consistent as “Entertain You”, “The Purge” and “Shed My Skin”, proof that, over the years, they maintain their creative freshness and the ability to reinvent.
In 2023 they edited another chapter of this success story. Bleed Out, the band’s eighth album saw the light of day on October 20th. The album is inspired by the story of a woman who was murdered in Iran because she refused to wear a hijab. It is, therefore, a record marked by a strong social conscience, without ever losing sight of its musical boldness, focusing on forceful riffs and penetrating melodies, without ever losing its symphonic identity, even when they enter into dialogue with a series of other musical records.
These new features, which also include the new song “A Fool’s Parade” (feat. Alex Yarmak) released on April 5th, are an expression of the band’s commitment to continue shedding light on the ongoing existential struggle that Ukraine faces against the Russian invasion and whose video was recorded in Kyiv with the renowned Ukrainian director Indy Hait, together with the band’s classics promise to win over the Portuguese public, on the 25th and 26th of November, in the Sala Tejo at the MEO Arena in Lisbon.
