One of the most important events in the world for music industry professionals arrives in Porto in the autumn and the program now features nine more names, with a strong presence of the Portuguese language. From the 27th to the 31st of October, WOMEX spreads music through various spaces in the city.
Acting at home will be Vitorino, Miroca Paris, the duo Lina_Raül Refree and O Gajo, and Palco Lusofónica also receives songs from Brazilians Ayom and Lucas Santtana, French Lucia de Carvalho, Spanish Tanxugueiras and Guinea-Bissau the Bandé-Gamboa. This group joins the first artists announced in early July.
WOMEX – The World Music Expo takes place for the first time in Portugal and will be accompanied by conferences, film screenings, and concerts. The list celebrates the musical diversity associated with the event, with a collection of names from different styles that combine musical tradition and the latest artistic innovations.
With an epicenter at Alfândega do Porto and passing by Casa da Música, Teatro Rivoli, Coliseu do Porto, National Theater of São João, Teatro Sá da Bandeira, Hard Club, Cinema Passos Manuel and also Praça de D. João V., WOMEX 2021 results from an investment in the order of 1.7 million euros, which includes the contribution of 620,000 euros from the City Council of Porto.
