Womex started yesterday in Lisbon

The international music fair Womex, which last year was in Porto, is present this year in Lisbon, there are several spaces for concerts, in the Cinemateca and in the Altice Arena where conferences are held and the stands of the many participants are located.

At night was the official opening with the participation of António Miguel Guimarães from AMG Music, Alexander Walter from Womex, Carla Simões from Turismo de Portugal, Diogo Moura Vereados da Cultura from Lisbon City Council and the Minister of Culture, Pedro Adão e Silva, There was also a show with Portuguese musicians Beatriz Felício, Club Makumba, Expresso Transatlântico and Júlio Resende, highlighted at Teatro Tivoli BBVA.

 

Between Wednesday and Sunday, more than 2,500 professionals linked to the music industry will meet in Lisbon, the organization said.

Participants at Womex will be able to see concerts at Coliseu dos Recreios, Cinema São Jorge, Teatro Tivoli, Capitólio, Teatro Municipal São Luiz, LAV – Lisboa ao Vivo and a tent at Parque Mayer, film screenings at Cinemateca Portuguesa, but also conferences, meetings and the aim is to stimulate business and professional meetings at the Altice Arena, where more than 200 publicity stands are present.

 

Womex’s program includes 60 shows, with the participation of 300 musicians of various nationalities, 520 publishers and distributors, more than 400 governmental and educational institutions, 800 agents and more than 610 managers and 300 producers.

The event includes the participation of artists such as the Portuguese Sara Correia, Duarte, Ana Lua Caiano and Pedro Jóia, the Cape Verdean Tito Paris, the Malians Ali Bilali Soudan, the Brazilians Kastrup, Bia Ferreira and Lia de Itamaracá, the Spanish Israel Fernández, the Norwegian Daniel Herskedal, the Madagascarians The Dizzy Brains, the South African Pilani Bubu, the Indians Rangamatir Baul, the Cuban Brenda Navarrete, the Mozambican Selma Uamusse, the Irish Dani Larkin, the South Koreans Groove&, the Ghanaians Fra!, the Mexicans Son Rompe Pera, the North Americans Windborneos, the Colombians La Mambanegra and the French Les Mécanos.
