Woody Allen is back in Portugal and announces dates in Lisbon and Porto in September.
The American filmmaker and musician will perform with the New Orleans Jazz Band, with whom he has worked for over 40 years, on September 13th at the Super Bock Arena in Porto and on September 14th at Campo Pequeno in Lisbon.
Woody’s first public performances took place in the mid-70s with some like-minded musicians at Michaels Pub in New York. These shows quickly became a routine and every Monday Woody and his group performed for thousands of people.
For twenty-five years, the group maintained a regular appointment on Monday nights at the renowned Carlyle Hotel in Manhattan and the artist went so far as to skip an Oscar so as not to miss his Monday night concert.
Woody and the New Orleans Jazz Band have been touring Europe since 1996 and their music has always been inspired by the city of New Orleans. Their repertoire is diverse and comprises more than 1200 songs with popular melodies from the early 20th century.
Woody Allen’s concerts are always a surprise not only for the audience but also for the band who never know what the next song is, as the artist believes that the spontaneous nature of music should be guided.
Portugal will welcome you once again for two concerts that promise to be unforgettable on the 13th and 14th of September 2023.
Always confirm with the concert hall or promoter the conditions of access, confirmation of the date or time, tickets place of sale, price, and availability.
