World Championship of Underwater Photography and Video in Portugal
Around 130 athletes from 22 nationalities and from three continents will make more than 700 dives in the Underwater Photography and Video World Championship in Porto Santo, which takes place from September 4th to 9th.
This is the first time that this championship takes place in Portugal, and the Madeiran executive’s objective is to catapult Madeira into an increasingly influential market niche in the area of tourism and the development of the blue economy.
The Regional Government granted this event support of 60 thousand euros from the Regional Budget, considering that this world championship will provide a great promotion of Madeira and Porto Santo in an area that has more and more fans, such as underwater diving.
