World marathon: Ana Rodrigues octave in early Portuguese discreet

The first Portuguese to compete in the marathon world in canoeing today had a discreet performance, in Vila de Prado, with Ana Rodrigues to reach the eighth place in C1.
In the race for single-seater canoes (C1), Ana Rodrigues was eighth, taking the 11.8 kilometers in 1.12.06 hours, to 4.40 minutes of the winner, the Canadian Marlee Macintosh, who outperformed the Polish Adrianna Antos, second at 30.62 seconds, and to the Ukrainian Mariia Honcharova, third to 53,17.
Only 13 canoists arrived at the finish line, one of them Cláudia Araújo, in the 10th place, the 7.17 of the winner.
In kayaks (K1), Maria Gomes was 11th, reaching the end of the 19 kilometers in 1: 37.41, 3.02 of the Hungarian Zsóka Csikós, who beat compatriot Dorina Fekete for 1.2 seconds with the Briton Emma Russel to complete the podium at 8.22.

Even today, the under-23s Nara Varela and Ana Nogueira compete in K1 at 11:50, while the juniors Leonardo Vicente and Luís Varajão leave at 12:00 in C1 and Tiago Henriques and Bernardo Santos in K1 at 15:30.
On Saturday, K1 Europe’s five-time European champion, Jose Ramalho, will attempt a world title, having already won three bronze medals and one silver medal.
