WOW celebrates first anniversary
A year ago, it opened the largest cultural block in the country. The WOW opened on July 31st and since then it has been a set of good reasons to visit and revisit the historic center of Gaia. The cultural quarter will celebrate its first anniversary with animation.
On the 30th, from 3pm to 9pm, there is a piano marathon, organized by Porto Pianofest, in the main square of WOW, in the open air. On the 31st, Saturday, brunch at the VP is animated by DJ André Cascais, from 11am to 4pm. Still on the VP’s terrace, but to accompany the sunset, from 6pm to 10pm, there will be music by DJ and saxophonist Jeff Sax. During the day and throughout the WOW venue, the jazz group “Animadixie” will perform several performances. In the evening, starting at 9.30 pm, there is a lighting show in the central square called “O Baile dos Candeeiros”. This night’s mapping video, as it should be, is birthday themed and will be screened at 10:20 pm. All shows are free.
Note that the beginning of August will also be marked by the Porto Pianofest recitals at WOW, which will take place on the 5th, 6th and 7th. Admission is free, but requires prior registration to reserve a place.
Remember, there are two new museums to discover at WOW. The Pink Palace is an extravagant experience about Rosé wine and opened on the 24th of July. The Fashion and Textile Museum opened its doors on May 20th. In total, visitors can now enjoy seven museums, several restaurants, shops and a Wine School.
