XII National Competition of Homemade and Craft Beers

HopSin Brewpub in Colares, registrations open until March 29th

  • April 5 – Competition
  • April 12 – Winners

Traditionally held in December, the National Homemade and Craft Beer Competition takes place this year in April. HopSin Brewpub, in Colares (Sintra), is the host of this unique competition of its kind in Portugal.

On April 5th, the beers will be evaluated (behind closed doors) and on the 12th, the winners will be announced in the different categories and the Best Brazilian Craft Beer of 2024 will be elected (an event open to the community and general public, with the schedule to be announced). In 2025, CNCCA promises to surprise you with new features and an extra touch of flavour!

Once again, the Competition is divided into two sections: one for homebrewers, and the other for Portuguese craft beer brands. The Homemade Beers section of the XII CNCCA will be, as has been the custom in recent years, divided into 4 categories:

Ale beer category;
• Lager beer category;
• Experimental beer category (34C BJCP style)
• Featured category (beers with a smoky character)

In this edition, the highlight of the Competition, and for the first time, is not a specific style of the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP), but rather a concept: beers with a smoked character, challenging participants to explore intense and authentic aromas of Smoked Beers.

Tributo Espírito CervejeiroAnother highlight of the 12th edition of the National Competition for Homemade and Craft Beers is the Tributo Espírito Cervejeiro award – CNCCA, a distinction that aims to annually recognize those who, with passion, dedication and vision, contribute to the promotion, growth and strengthening of beer culture in Portugal. This tribute celebrates the commitment to authenticity, sharing and evolution of the craft market, honouring those who leave their mark on this movement.

Organized since 2008 by the Fórum Cervejas do Mundo, led by Bruno Aquino, the face of craft beer in Portugal and one of our ambassadors abroad, the National Competition for Homemade and Craft Beers is well-established in the beer scene, as well as being an annual moment of fraternization for the beer community. Registration is open until March 29th at www.cncca.pt. Craft beer enthusiasts and professionals alike: everyone is invited to join us for this celebration of creativity and innovation! Prepare your best recipes and be part of this unique experience in the world of homemade and craft beers in Portugal!

Always confirm with the concert hall or promoter the conditions of access, confirmation of the date or time, ticket place of sale, price, and availability.
