Xutos & Pontapés edit a new album today
The Xutos & Pontapés, celebrating 40 years, today published a new album, titled ‘Duro’, which features songs recorded by guitarist Zé Pedro and the participation of Capicua, Carlão and Jorge Palma.
‘Duro’ is the first album that Kalú, Tim, João Cabeleira and Gui edit without guitarist Zé Pedro, who died in 2017, but the record includes recordings made by this musician.
Presented by the band as “a legacy of perseverance and persistence, mourning and joy,” the album is released five years after ‘Puro’.
The lineup includes, among others, Seeds of the Impossible, made for a film by Joaquim Leitão, ‘Aleppo’, whose lyrics were composed with phrases from the Syrian girl Bana Alabed, about the conflict in Syria, ‘Duel to the Sun’ with the participation of Carlão, and ‘Imprevistos’, which include rapper Capicua and musician Jorge Palma.
The Xutos & Pontapés, now a quartet, today make the official presentation of ‘Duro’, in a concert in the Lisboa ao Vivo space.
On February 1st they present the new songs at the Hard Club in Oporto.
It is already announced a performance on May 11 at the Estádio de Leiria.
