‘Yasuke’ is the next Netflix Japanese animation series

Netflix revealed that the Japanese animation series ‘Yasuke’ will be released in streaming service on April 29, 2021.

The series will have six episodes and will have Yasuke as a protagonist, a black samurai of African origin that served one of the most emblematic characters in the history of Japan, Oda Nobunaga.

The story of ‘Yasuke’ does not intend to serve as a faithful registration to the course of the protagonist, counting on elements such as robots, magic and other usual elements in Japanese animation.

The main character will have the voice of Lakeith Stanfield (‘Judas and The Black Messiah’ and ‘Atlanta’), the animation is from the Mappa Studio (‘Attack on Titan’ and ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’) and has a soundtrack produced by Flying Lotus.
