The young artist Mariana Abrantes, from Coimbra, is part of an exhibition in Madrid, following artistic residences promoted by the Spanish Youth Institute, the institution said.
The artist, a native of Coimbra, is part of the exhibition ‘Residencias Artisticos INJUVE’, organized by the Spanish Institute of Youth (INJUVE) in the Sala Amadís in Madrid, where four artistic projects will be exhibited as of August 1, in a press release, the institution responsible for the initiative.
According to the press release, the four projects selected for the exhibition are the result of one month of artistic residences promoted by INJUVE with young creators (under 30 years old), in which Mariana Abrantes participated.
The exhibition ‘VISIBLE / INVISIBLE’, by Elisa González, ‘# MADRIDMILLENNIALRESORT & SPA’, by Álvaro Caboalles, ‘Aida Salán’s most popular fiestas, Cris Argüelles, and ‘Registrando el aburrimiento’, an installation of the Austral collective, formed by Mariana Abrantes, Carla Valeria Pereyra and Laia Castells.
According to INJUVE, these artistic projects were created in what is the first edition of the institute’s summer residency program.
The works “intend to explore the possibilities of new creations that revolve around the common theme of boredom and summer boredom,” he adds.
During the artistic residency, the young creators count on the support of professionals of the world of contemporary art, who followed the creative process, says INJUVE.
The exhibition will be open from Monday to Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., ending on September 5 at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.
