The Brazilian singer, composer, chronicler and musician from Maranhão, who lived in São Paulo, after being in Coimbra, returned to Lisbon and from the first chord won over a room of fans and connoisseurs, who cheered, song after song, from this fantastic concert at the Tivoli BBVA Theatre.
It was with three songs by Portuguese authors that the concert opened, by Sérgio Godinho, “Às Vezes o Amor”, then “Tu não Sabes” by Pedro Abrunhosa and ended with “Balada de Outono” by Zeca Afonso, authors he admires, he confesses. the Brazilian composer and which is part of the album Canções de Além Mar, which he released in 2020.
This album also includes António Variações‘ “Canção de engate”, Fausto Bordalo Dias’s “Ali está a Cidade”, Jorge Palma’s “Bairro do Amor”, José Cid’s “É no silêncio das coisas”, by Ornatos Violeta “Capitão romance”, by Rui Veloso “Todo o tempo do mundo”, by Sérgio Godinho, who was with him at the Coimbra concert, “Às vezes o amor” and by Vitorino “Menina, estás à janela”.
He then continues with “Mambo Só”, and soon wins over the audience that came to see him at Tivoli, singing in unison with him this song, and all the others, from a repertoire that is full of Brazilian popular music hits.
The audience was very participative, there were very emotional moments, in “Babylon” and “Proibida para mim“, with Zeca leaving the choir very in tune, who welcomed him with open arms at the Tivoli, singing, limiting himself to accompanying them with his guitar with his stage companions Tuco Marcondes on guitar, guitar and choirs, on cello and choirs, Lui Coimbra and Manuel Paulo on piano.
Zeca then sang his first song to appear in a soap opera, “Por Amor”, soap operas were very important for the author, he even says that soap opera songs made many new Brazilian authors known, he confesses, that he even started following this soap opera, just to hear the theme for the first time.
The singer even ended up doing a short quiz about soap operas and their songs with the participation of the public, which caused lots of laughter and applause, of course, while he sang some emblematic songs made famous in this television format, which the Portuguese know so well.
Zeca then welcomes João Gil, Ruben Alves and Nuno Guerreiro from Ala dos Namorados to sing one of his favourite songs composed by João Gil and João Monge, “Razão de ser e valer a pena” followed by a song from Ala dos Namorados. with lyrics by the Brazilian author, “Para onde irão”, created in times of pandemic, and which with two other songs on which they collaborated, are part of the new album, which will be called, Brilhará, the name of another of the songs, which Ala dos Namorados will edit.
A concert that had a lighting design that, despite being simple, was well achieved, livening up the stage and complementing Zeca Baleiro’s music.
If you can, don’t miss today, the 14th, at 9 pm at Casa da Música do Porto, a new concert by Zeca Baleiro, which the author promises will be a little different from the others, he confesses that he doesn’t like doing the same concerts.
Another excellent show produced by UAU, more than a concert, a celebration of the best music in the Portuguese language.
