Punta Cana is a very popular destination, known for its fine sand beaches and translucent waters. It offers a variety of places that families can explore during their stay, such as a visit to Hoyo Azul, the most famous cenote in the region, or a visit to the local theme park – which promises hours of fun for little ones.
Still, in the fun section, there are several activities to take into account. For travelers passionate about adventure, a buggy tour is a must; For those who prioritize discovery, there are cultural routes that offer direct contact with nature and local culture. Other adventures include interacting with squirrel monkeys, horse riding along beaches and paragliding over the sea. Every week, between July and October, Soltour will offer direct flights to Punta Cana from Lisbon.
Riviera Maya: adventure and culture for all ages
It is one of the most popular regions in Mexico to travel to and one of the best destinations for families in the Caribbean. The reasons are easy to understand: full of paradisiacal beaches, cenotes, historical ruins and islands, the Riviera Maya combines a huge diversity of natural and cultural resources with excellent tourist infrastructure, from resorts and bars to restaurants and shopping centres.
Cenotes are one of the region’s main natural attractions, with crystal-clear waters and unique rock formations. But the spotlight is shared by the various sites of cultural value: the Ruins of Chichén Itzá and Tulum, as well as the Temple of Kukulcán, transport visitors to the time of Mayan civilization and are a must-visit for all families interested in history.
