Project for statues that speak of Santo António (Lisbon) is a finalist for the INOVA+ awards

The “History with Voice” project of the Parish of Santo António Lisboa, which makes Lisbon’s statues speak to visitors, is a finalist for two INOVA+ awards.

The INOVA+ awards, currently in their 2nd edition, seek to distinguish innovative projects in scientific, business and public contexts and the “História com Voz” project is one of the five finalists.

The “History with Voice” project is a truly innovative initiative that combines history, technology and entertainment to offer visitors a unique Cultural Tourism experience in Lisbon by giving Voice to the Parish’s statues.

Just read, with any cell phone, the QR code next to the statue, and you will immediately receive a phone call from the person portrayed, in the voice of a personality well known to the Portuguese public, talking a little about his life and work.

The contents, historically correct texts, have the quality seal of the National Culture Center and a pinch of Nilton’s always-welcome humour.

The 22 statues that can call visitors are spread across the territory of the Parish of Santo António and have the following voices:

Alexandre Herculano – Herman José
Marquês de Pombal – Júlio Isidro
Fryderyck Chopin – David Fonseca
Rosa Araújo – Marina Mota e Fernando Mendes
Simon Bolivar – António Raminhos
Alegoria ao Rio Douro – Fernando Rocha

It should also be noted that Artificial Intelligence generated the English version.

Now it is up to the public to decide the winner, through an exclusively online vote, taking place at this website https://premio.inova.business/votacao-publica/

If won, the prize of €5,000 will be used to purchase goods to provision the “Mercearia Social Valor Humano”, another renowned and worthy project in the Parish of Santo António.
