Piaget extends training offer in Health

The Piaget Institute will increase its training offer in the health area in the academic year that now begins with the launch of three new postgraduate courses. The newly created training courses cover the areas of Geronto-geriatrics; Thermalism, Tourism and SPA; and Innovation, Quality Management and Health Auditing.

The postgraduate course in Geronto-geriatrics, lasting five months, will be taught in a semi-presential regime (b-learning) at the university center of Viseu.

This training is accessible to all graduates in the areas of physiotherapy, nursing, gerontology, medicine, social work and other related areas, arising at a time when health care for the elderly has a double relevance.

On the one hand, the country faces the growing reality of an aging population; on the other hand, it is confronted with its special vulnerability to threats to public health, such as the current Covid-19 pandemic.

Also on the Viseu campus will be taught a postgraduate course in Thermalism, Tourism and SPA, with a duration of six months and also in a semi-presential regime. The course will train professionals to perform activities in spas and spas, privileging their role in promoting the health and well-being of users, as well as as a valuable economic resource for the surrounding communities, in one of the segments with the greatest growth potential in the sector. tourism.

The creation of this postgraduate program is also a consequence of the Piaget Institute’s strong commitment to this area, which has already given rise to a postgraduate course in Thermalism, from the Piaget Institute of Vila Nova de Gaia (taught in Amarante) and to the professional higher technical course (CTeSP) of Thermalism and Well-Being, taught in Viseu.
