Ala dos Namorados are back, with the same magic that made them famous, at Capitólio for a concert/rehearsal where they played the themes we all know but also new ones.
Ala dos Namorados, a band formed in 1992, returned to the stage and records, with musician João Gil and singer Nuno Guerreiro directing this new phase of the project.
The return was yesterday Monday with an ‘Open Rehearsal‘, at the Capitólio, in Lisbon, the presentation text could read “to lift the veil to the fans of what will be the band’s return concert”, and so it was, the band had a full room to receive them, with friends, family, and fans, everyone sang and followed from beginning to end, where even Nuno Guerreio’s mother, who was in the audience, sang a little of a fado.
Joining on stage were João Gil and Nuno Guerreiro, Rúben Alves, on piano and accordion, Alexandre Frazão, on drums, Nelson Cascais, on double bass, and Luís Cunha, on trumpet, to hear the themes that made them famous but also new ones, with lyrics by Mia Couto, José Eduardo Agualusa, Fernando Pessoa, Maria do Rosário Pedreira, Zeca Baleiro, and João Gil himself.
Tomorrow, the 1st of February, will be the first “serious” concert, don’t miss it at the Cineteatro Louletano, in Loulé and then on the 14th of February, at the Casino da Póvoa, in Póvoa de Varzim, where you can hear ‘Loucos de Lisboa’ or ‘Marcha Erasmus’.
