Rugby selection in 11th place in Chile’s ‘Challenger Series’

Portugal, who on Saturday lost the three group games, entered the second day with a triumph (30-10) over Mexico, but lost to Jamaica (19-22) in the semi-finals of the qualifying poule from ninth to 16th place.

The selection now goes to Uruguay, where it will compete on Saturday and Sunday in Montevideo, the second and final stage of the ‘Challenger Series’.

The top eight finishers in the aggregate of the two stages of the competition qualify for the qualifying tournament of the world rugby circuit ‘sevens’, which takes place in October in Hong Kong.
