Tindersticks Announce Concerts at Coliseums with Orchestra and Guests

The British Tindersticks return to Portugal in 2022 for two special concerts at the Coliseums of Lisbon and Porto, integrated in the tour of their 30-year career. Accompanying the band will be an orchestra and several guests, to be announced in due course. Tickets are already on sale at the usual places.

2022 marks Tindersticks’ three decades of career. To celebrate the occasion, the band led by Stuart Staples built a show that will pass through countries and stages with a special meaning in the group’s journey. Portugal is one of the countries included in this tour, with concerts on the 13th of May, at the Coliseu de Lisboa, and the next day, the 14th of May, at the Coliseu do Porto.

The concerts will span the band’s extensive discography, from Tindersticks, their debut album released in 1993, to the most recent and mesmerizing Distractions, released in February this year. The band will be accompanied by an orchestra and several guests who have marked their journey.

Tindersticks were born in 1992 and currently have the original members Stuart Staples (vocalist), David Boulter (keyboardist) and Neil Fraser (guitarist) and the most recent additions, Dan McKinna (bassist, in the band since 2007) and Earl Harvin Jr (drummer, in the band since 2010). Throughout their careers, they established themselves as masters of restraint and poetic human emotion, drawing dense and melancholic songs, whose textures and beauty found a special place in the heart of the national public, where they were always cherished. The choice of the Coliseums of Porto and Lisbon to integrate this commemorative tour thus highlights the importance that the Portuguese public has for the Nottingham group.
