Volta a Portugal remains on schedule

The new competition scheme, which now includes ProSeries, classes 1 and 2, and selection tests, as well as under-23s and juniors, also reveals that the Torres Vedras International Grand Prize – Joaquim Agostinho Trophy will have this year least one day.

The dates were also changed, now the test 2.2 for the period between July 24th and 26th, running in three days instead of the four planned, with the 42nd edition starting again 15 days after the initially scheduled.

After stopping due to the covid-19 pandemic, the first event on the UCI calendar is the Sibiu Cycling Tour, in Romania, from 02 to 05 July, marking the return of cycling after a prolonged stop since March.

The new calendar, which also includes evidence from female elites, allowed organizers to find new dates for 91 events that had their realization in question.

Cyclists will be able to play this year “an unprecedented season”, in which more than 1,000 events were postponed or canceled, equivalent to 45% of the calendar.
