On Children’s Day at WOW there are free tickets and lots of entertainment
On the 1st and 2nd of June, children up to the age of 12 pay free entry to the WOW museums. In addition, there are original workshops taking place and a play area entirely dedicated to the little ones.
On Children’s Day weekend, there will be six museums open for the little ones. From 10 am, simply present proof of age at the WOW ticket offices to be able to receive gift tickets and visit each of the six available museums for free.
To choose from are the Chocolate Museum, which reveals the entire story from cocoa to the chocolate tablet, the Cork Museum, where it is possible to learn everything about this sustainable material through lots of interaction and play, the Pink Palace, to discover and take photographs in the most exuberant settings, The Bridge Collection, where the history of different civilizations is learned through hunting for archaeological pieces, the Porto Region Museum, to learn the history of the city and the region in the most fantastic ways, and the Wine Museum, an immersive and fun museum, where you will be able to learn a lot about geography and the cycles of Nature – and where the wine tasting is replaced by juice.
In addition to the museums, WOW proposes a series of workshops, which will take place in Sala Nasoni, close to the Pink Palace. There are three options to choose from: “Chocolate Plasticine”, to learn how to make plasticine with chocolate aroma and flavour; “Paint your Glass that Shines”, inspired by The Bridge Collection museum, which allows you to create a glass that glows in the dark; and the “Cork Board Game”, where children will be able to create their own game, with the best raw materials. Tickets for each of them cost €15 and tickets can be purchased online.
Next to the Pink Palace and Sala Nasoni, there will also be a Kids Zone with some traditional games, with free participation.
