The Christmas illuminations in Lisbon will be inaugurated on the 23rd, filling with brightness and colour the streets, avenues and squares of the city in an initiative of the City Hall of Lisbon and the Union of Trade and Services Associations (UACS).
As is already a tradition, the moment will be marked in the Terreiro do Paço with the symbolic link of the Christmas tree, at 6:30 pm.
The inauguration of the Christmas illuminations will be followed by a light and sound show and a concert, this year with the artist Áurea.
One of the most applauded voices in Portuguese music, the singer presents “Christmas Movie Songs”, interpreting themes from films that have marked the Christmas season over several generations, such as “Alone at Home”, “A Christmas Tale” and “O Estranho Mundo de Jack”, among other great classics.
After the lights follow the program of Christmas Festivities, with concerts in churches and other spaces, which will be released next week.
