The Portuguese athlete achieved today the qualification for the Olympic Games Tokyo2020, in the marathon that was disputed in Twente, in the Netherlands, with the time of 02: 26.42 hours, second in the final classification.
The marathon was played at the airport in Twente, transferred from Hamburg due to the restrictions caused by the pandemic, Sara Moreira, a Sporting athlete was in the second position, behind the German Katharina Steinrück who won with less than 41 seconds.
Sara Moreira is the third Portuguese athlete to qualify for this Olympic competition with the time of 02: 29.30 hours, Carla Salomé Rocha with 02: 24.47 hours and Sara Catarina Ribeiro with 02: 26.40 hours, who achieved the qualification in 2019 in London and Valencia.
The Tokyo2020 Olympic Games are scheduled to take place between July 23 and August 8 in Tokyo, Japan.
