IndieLisboa will also screen a series of short films chosen by Camilo Restrepo and made in the context of the collective L’Abominable, of which he is part, in Paris, where he has lived and worked since 1999.
The 18th edition of IndieLisboa is scheduled from August 21st to September 6th and, in the “Silvestre” section, the selection of feature films was also announced today, with fifteen choices, including “A cidade dos abismos”, Brazilian production by Priscyla Bettim and Renato Coelho, “Atarrabi & Mikelats”, by Eugène Green, and “Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn“, by Radu Jude.
A retrospective dedicated to French director Sarah Maldoror had already been announced from IndieLisboa’s programming.
The “IndieMusic” section, which bridges the gap between cinema and music, will feature films “Já estou farto!”, by Paulo Antunes, about the musician João Pedro Almendra, one of the names of Portuguese punk from the 1980s and 1990s, “Ney à flor da pele” by Felipe Nepomuceno, and “Crock of gold” about musician Shane MacGowan, and “Poly Styrene: I Am a Cliché” about former X-Ray Spex vocalist.
The festival will take place at Cinema São Jorge, Culturgest, Cinemateca Portuguesa and Cinema Ideal.
