César Mourão has accustomed us to expect him to surprise us and this year will be no exception. With a consolidated career in the entertainment field, the artist is now preparing to release his first original album.
The second theme, “Maybe it’s nothing”, was presented last February and promises to be another success to add to the vast range of César Mourão. It’s a catchy and fun song, which tells of little everyday annoyances, like the toast always falling with the butter side down, the phone running out of battery in the middle of the day or the car going into reserve on a rainy day.
On this subject, César tells us that «it was written on a rainy day, when I arrived at the office and Rosa, who works with me at Eles Abraço, was different. I asked her what was going on and she had no answer. After a few minutes, she comes to me and says: “I know what it is, it’s the weather, when it’s raining like this, I’m more withered”. I took the guitar, sat down, and wrote the music that originated this single.»
And to counter possible withering days, this long-awaited album is preceded by two shows that will be the kick-off for a tour. César will perform in Lisbon, on the 15th of April at Sagres Campo Pequeno, and in Porto, on the 28th of April at the Super Bock Arena – Pavilhão Rosa Mota, with original songs and stories told by César himself, many of them written during the “Terra Nossa”.
And to make this party even more special, César Mourão invited his friends to join him: António Zambujo and Juliana Anjo take the stage at the concert in Lisbon, and Miguel Araújo will be in Porto.
Musicians of excellence, who have always encouraged César to venture into song, embark with him on this absolute debut, together with the Madeiran singer who stood out in Ídolos.
The lyrics and music of “Talvez não seja nada” are by César Mourão and the bass is by Miguel Araújo. It was recorded and mixed by João Bessa at Miramar Studios and by Serafim Borges at Groove Wood Studio. Mastering was in charge of João Bessa and production and arrangement by Guilha Marinho.
The concert has the musical direction of Guilha Marinho (guitar) and Jaume Pradas (drums), Nuno Oliveira (bass), Diogo Duque (trumpet), and João Rato (piano).
The concept and graphic creation are by Madalena Soares and Maria Lampreia – EGO Studio, the photographs by William Sossai, and the rights of use by Aquele Abraço.
“Talvez não seja nada”, but just in case, it’s better not to miss the opportunity to watch César Mourão’s debut concert live.
